How it Works
Working of Business Plan Pro is very simple. When we click on the icon of Business plan Professional we see a box of start up options. 
It has three options as we can see in figure above.
Create a new Business Plan: Starts a new plan using the Plan Setup.
Open an existing plan: Our previously saved plan files will be listed in the dialog box. The “More Files” option lets us search for files in other directories.
Open a sample plan: The Sample Plan Browser lets us choose from over 500 sample plans. View plans in portable document format (pdf) or Open a working copy of the plan in Business Plan P
Business Plan Pro was designed to develop any business plan from scratch. The Plan Setup guides us step by step through the plan from beginning to end.When we start a new plan, the Plan Setup asks us a series of questions about our business, like starting month and year, Business plan title, Authors name & email, type of business and many financial questions regarding sales forcast format, inventory management, credit sales percentage and cash flow basis.
Based on our answers to the Plan Setup questions, the software adjusts the plan outline and financials to our type of business. Each question provides a “default” answer. If we are not sure how to answer a question, we can simply accept the default choice for now. We can always come back later and change an answer by clicking on the “Plan Setup” button at the top left of the screen.When we have finished the Plan Setup, we will see a summary of all your settings:
We can click on any item to return to that step and revise our answer. Now, we are ready to start our plan!
When we will click on “Finish” button after conclusion, we will be directed to Home Page.

Home Page
The Business Plan Pro Home page helps you direct your work flow, keeps you abreast of product announcements, updates, and special issue questions, and keeps you on task with your Plan Activities.The Home page will display after finishing the Plan Setup, when you reopen an existing plan, or when you open a plan from the Sample Plan Browser.
There are three step options are given.
Step 1 button: is to follow the task list to write your plan and enter your financials.
Step 2 button: is to check your plan for completeness, including financials. The Plan Review can also explain how your financials compare to industry standards.
Step 3 Button:Once your plan is finished and reviewed you can print, export to different formats.
So when we click botton of step 1, plan writing starts, Plan Task list will be opened. -

Writing the Plan
we can view the Task List by choosing the button from the main toolbar. The “Previous Task” and “Next Task” buttons ( as shown below) move you through the Task List in the recommended order for completing your customized business plan.Text, organized into topics, forms the basis of our plan. We work on text from the Topic screen, shown below. Our topics are included in the Task List, shown on the left-hand side of the screen. The Task List lets us work on topics and tables in a recommended order for completing our plan. -

Instructions and Examples
Instructions for the current topic display automatically. Click the Examples link to show text for the same topic from a sample plan. Example text can also be pasted into the current topic. A link within the examples window lets you open the full sample plan from which that example came.
Formatting Toolbar
Use the formatting toolbar to access standard text formatting such as bold, underline, and italic, bulleted and numbered lists.To maximize your workspace click the “Full Screen” button.
Working in Tables
The Table screen is a spreadsheet format, with columns, rows, and formulas to automatically calculate totals as we enter our numbers.Tables are included in the Plan Outline list, shown above on the left-hand side of the screen. The Plan Outline view lists the tables and topics in the order they will display as part of our completed plan. Tables linked to topics print the yearly totals; tables in the Appendix print the monthly details for the first year.
Instructions and Examples
Instructions for the current table display automatically. Click the Examples link to show a table example from a completed plan.
Formatting Toolbar
Use the table formatting toolbar to move from one table to another, to display row-by-row help , and access cell formatting such as currency format .To maximize your workspace click the Full SCreen button.
Plan Review
The Plan Review critiques your plan for completeness, and tests your financials against standard accounting and planning rules. Use it as you proceed through the Task List, to ensure you have completed all necessary topics and tables, or after completing your first draft, to search for common errors. Click on the Plan Review toolbar button to open a dialog which walks you through the review, step by step.
Printing is Automatic
Business Plan Pro prints out a plan with an automatic format.- • It merges the topics, tables, and charts into a professional-looking format. This includes automatic indenting of paragraphs and formatting of topic titles. Bullet points and numbered lists can be added to our text through the formatting toolbar.
- • It prints an Appendix with monthly tables, plus any chosen topics and charts.
- • It creates a Table of Contents.
- • It has a standard cover sheet that we can customize with a company logo and text formatting.
- • An optional Legal page can be included. Basic text on confidentiality is provided.
Charts are Automatic
All of the charts in Business Plan Pro are automatically linked to tables. When you change the numbers in your tables, the charts update automatically. In this example, the Cash chart is automatically created from the Cash Flow table.The Charts toolbar has a Default chart colors command which opens a dialog of different color palettes so you can choose and set a look for all your charts.
Tutorial
Business Plan Pro offers an interactive Tutorial which leads you through the creation of a business plan for a hypothetical graphics company and gives you an opportunity to practice with the basic features of the software. You read each step and then follow along in the program, learning how to format your topics and enter numbers into your tables. The step-by-step Tutorial can be accessed from the Home page or from the Help menu.
Sample Plan Browser
Business Plan Pro includes a wide variety of sample business plans. The Sample Plan Browser makes it easy to search our extensive sample plan library for plans that match your business needs.
View : Read a sample plan to get ideas.
Open : Open a sample plan as a starting point for your plan.
Import: Select topics/tables/charts from a sample plan to import into you own plan.
Sample plans are delivered over the Internet. This allows us to provide the most up-to-date content available. -
