Discussion Question:
The project manager of XYZ Company asked a junior team member to develop a PERT Chart for a small project involving four activities – A, B, C and D – using the given relationship:
· Activity A and activity B are done simultaneously
· Activity C starts when activity A is finished
· Activity D starts only when both activities A and B are finished
The junior member worked on it and developed following PERT Chart:

Question: Analyze the PERT Chart and discuss, along with reasons, whether it was designed correctly or not.
Solution:
The above PERT chart is not correct.
At node 1, activity A is started and node 2, activity B is started.
According to condition 2, activity C starts only after A is finished. The PERT chart given is showing that activity C is starting only after A and B activities are finished.

In my opinion PERT chart is not designed correctly, because the main reason is that, the purpose of this chart is about to achieve Goals on time, but in this chart no activity is getting complete on a single point.
2nd reason is that, if it said that activity A & B will complete, than C will be started, so C & D should remain the same to complete that process parallel, but in this chart D is taking much time to complete that tast
