“William Mcdougall”
William Mcdougall is known for his hormic view point but he was strongly in favor of
American Behaviorist School.
· According to Mcdougall, behavior is the result of “internal strivings” and “urge to
live”. Do you agree that behavior is really result of these strivings and urges? If
yes, what urges people in Pakistani society possess? Keep in view all the violent
behaviors and miseries in mind while answering. (5)
· Mcdougall identified eighteen different kinds of propensities and concluded that
behavior is due to these propensities. How these tendencies form urges in your
personality? Pick out at least 10 propensities; define with help of at least one
example and connect them with your behaviors and urges to strive for life. (10)
